About Us

At seven different sites in York Region, we serve 114 men and women ranging in age from 20 to 86. Participation House, Markham is a registered charity project of the Cerebral Palsy Parent Council of Toronto located in the City of Markham. Our Butternut Lane residence opened in 1972, and is one of Ontario’s major service providers for adults with physical and developmental disabilities.

For the past 43 years, the mission of Participation House, Markham is to be a leader in enhancing the quality of life of people with disabilities through a continuum of services designed to reflect individualized approaches, community involvement and a respect for human dignity. We work collaboratively with other service providers and take a leadership role within our community in promoting the quality of life of individuals with disabilities.

Our services provide varying levels of support and Assisted Living care, but all encourage the residents and tenants to reach out for a more social and independent lifestyle.
